An open, federated ecosystem is brought to life by the community that engages with it. The matchmaking module thus becomes an integral part for the GDDS. 

This service to build connections within the ecosystem is currently made via basic discussion forums, which provide the following functionalities: 

• An open discussion platform for the joint development of innovative project ideas and the bringing together of partners for collaborative implementation. 
• In addition, there is an expert directory for the visibility of one’s own expertise in a profile display for planners and project coordinators.
