On 2–3 September 2026 the SYNTACTIC consortium gathered in Barcelona, Spain for its project plenary meeting. Green Deal Dataspace e. V. joined partners from across Europe to agree on the foundations, implementation priorities and next steps of this ambitious European research and innovation project.
SYNTACTIC – A Holistic Synthetic Data Lifecycle Platform Towards Next-Gen Auto-Compliance – is committed to advancing the trustworthy use of synthetic data across Europe.
The project will create a European one‑stop platform for generating, integrating, validating and sharing data. By combining AI technologies, digital twins and secure interoperability with European Data Spaces and wider European AI initiatives SYNTACTIC aims to make synthetic data a trusted and reusable resource for the European AI ecosystem.
The plenary meeting marked an important milestone for the consortium. Over two days the partners worked to set a common technical and organisational basis for the upcoming implementation phase.
Key topics included the coordination and decision‑making method, the current status of each SYNTACTIC component and the identification of interfaces, dependencies, integration risks and remaining specifications.
The consortium also discussed the data types and legal requirements of the project pilots reviewed the ongoing requirements collection process and worked toward a common requirements baseline. In addition, the meeting covered project management, reporting, dissemination, communication, standardisation and exploitation activities.
The discussions ended with a set of actions, responsibilities, deadlines and milestones for the next implementation period.
With the first plenary meeting finished SYNTACTIC is now moving from initial coordination and requirements definition, toward the technical development and integration of its components.
For Green Deal Dataspace e. V. the project offers a chance to show how European Data Spaces can provide the trusted and interoperable infrastructure needed to unlock the potential of synthetic data for sustainability‑related use cases.
We look forward to sharing our expertise in the project phase and working together with the SYNTACTIC consortium toward a trustworthy, compliant and data‑driven European AI ecosystem.
